So I took to the internet tonight after watching Horizon on BBC 2. It was a documentary about the contraception Pill and how we as individuals found it along with statistics , side effects and alternatives.
I found it her informative particularly the part about side effects and mood disorders.
Therefore, I wanted to ask all you fello mum's if when your teenager has changed or developed any behavioural problems mood swings ( different to the norm) whilst taking the Pill.
My DD went on the pill Microgynon age 14 for heavy painful periods. She had a real tough time at school with friendship groups and developed a behavioural problem with myself and the rest of the household. I blame to this day school issues and friendships but after watching Horizon tonight a light switch moment happened!
IS IT THE PILL THAT IS HAVING THIS EFFECT! Her moods are all over the place, in fact shes nice literally for 5 days! she has Very odd behavioural traits and has had counselling etc but nothing has changed therefore wonder if a simple solution to this might be to stop the pill! She's now 19 and still tgere is no light at the end of the tunnel she seems to suffer more with anxiety more than ever.....
Can anyone else share some thoughts on this?.
Meanwhile, I have asked her to stop taking it after watching the show tonight, which she said she would but I wondered how long it might be before the hormones are out of her system.

A couple of weeks I would think. Then you will be able to judge if her moods are better and if they are, you'll know it was the pill that made them so bad.

I was on it for years, years ago and never thought much about it at the time but used to get very bad headaches which considerable lessened when I stopped taking it. Other than that I was quite well and it did its job, I didn't become pregnant.
