Cilest Pill - Side effects?

I've just been prescribed Cilest to deal with period pain. Plenty other options (pain killers)have been looked at to no avail and had endometrial ablation already. Problem is I was prescribed Microgynon when i was 21 for period pain and it made me so ill. Awful nausea and recthing/vomiting every day ever minute. Because of this i've not been on the pill since. Im 49 yrs now and GP has just given me Cilest. I have not heard of Cilest before and i told the GP about my past experience of the pill, he said Cilest is a newer pill and i might be better with it. I asked after the progesterone only pill and he said its not as good with dealing with period pain.

My question is:

  1. based on my experience of the pill, would you use Cilest?
  2. In the event i decide I cannot take Cilest, does the progesterone only pill suppress period pain?
