Think I'm getting cystitis, quick remedy?

I've had several before, quick call to GP and a prescription for Trimethoprim.
But I'm on holiday for another 5 days in a fairly remote place. We do have insurance but it'll be a big faff finding a Dr, no pharmacy in the nearest village.
Drink plenty but what else?

And then drink some more.

I've found drinking lots to be the best, and in your situation, only remedy.

Thanks Nutella, I thought as much Confused

If you can add soda bic (saturated solution, I use diluting juice to mask the flavour) that might help. But yes, fluids more fluids, and cranberry juice if you can find it. And then more fluids.

Water and paracetamol/ibuprofen. Cranberry juice doesn’t do shit.

I once managed to nip it in the bud by drinking a huge amount of water (I'm talking litres) and holding off going to the toilet until I absolutely couldn't hold on any longer. It was the longest wee I have ever done but it seemed to flush it all out.

I've never managed since then though as the urge to go to the toilet has been too overwhelming to hold off Sad

Dear ending on what country you are in you might be able to get antibiotics straight from the pharmacist. No doctor required.

Ohsolomio · 18/11/2018 05:51

Cranberry juice. Litres of it

ParisNext · 18/11/2018 05:57

Avoid milk and yoghurt. Drink water like a crazy lady.

potentiallypainful · 18/11/2018 07:37

Thanks all. I've been to enquire and antibiotics are only available with a prescription here. Seeing a Dr with be very pricy and time consuming.

I'm drinking gallons, taking Nurofen and crossing my fingers and legs.
