HFM in adults

Anyone caught it from their children? How did it progress - how quickly and where did it start? My DC has had it and stuck things in my mouth (half eaten food, etc) and slobbered on me before diagnosis Sad. My mouth felt sore and I have what looks like a white head in my mouth at the top. I genuinely thought I'd be lucky as it's rare in adults. Could this be the start? DC has not had a fever and it's been mild so I'm worried I'll feel fine apart from this.
