Quick question about chickenpox and incubation period.

DD1 has chickenpox. DD2 doesn't yet. I have found out that DD1 got it from nursery as she is the 7th case so it is highly unlikely DD1 and DD2 were exposed together.

DD1 got her first spots on Saturday evening. She would have been contagious to DD2 from 2 days before - Thursday.

If the incubation period is 10-21 days does this mean that DD2 is not contagious to other people until next Sunday? And can I send her to the childminder this morning?

she is contagious from when the spots appear until the last one scabs over.

Send her to the childminder until she starts to show signs of being ill. There's no way you can predict when she's going to be ill, if at all.

I would say she is safe to go.

DD1 got spots on the friday, 13 days later, DD2 got spots.

Ok I took her. What a relief just to have DD1 at home!
