Should I get swollen leg checked out after fall?

I fell down some steps on Sunday. My right foot slipped and my left leg folded under me so I fell with my whole weight onto it and the stone step slammed into my shin.

I can walk on it and move my ankle fine but there is a large bruise on my shin and my lower leg and ankle have swollen up. I can feel a dent in the swelling across the front of my shin which feels like where the step went into it but the skin is actually numb. If I touch it gently I literally can't feel anything but if I apply pressure it's very tight and sore. It doesn't help to elevate it - it very quickly starts to feel tingly and weird.

I haven't been to doctor because I can walk on it, but just wondered if any knowledgeable people here had any advice on whether there is any cause for concern or just a case of waiting for it to heal. Thanks in advance!

I think I'd go and get it checked out if there's unexplained swelling. It could be a DVT. Unlikely, but get it checked and ruled out.

Photo? Do you have a minor injuries clinic nearby?

It doesn't really look that bad, I've just got no visible ankle bones. Grin Its probably fine it was just the numb tingly feeling that I thought was odd.

Please get it checked.
