Severe dyskaryosis- nothing found during colposcopy

Just that really- has anybody had anything similar?
8th Oct- smear
31st Oct- letter received with colposcopy appointment after severe dyskaryosis found from smear
4th Nov- colposcopy- prepared me for treatment told me they would do it on the spot due to smear results- couldn't find anything- took biopsy and sent me home!!

Has anybody had a similar experience?
Is there a chance things will be fine?
Can everything look ok but you still need treatment?

Waiting for the biopsy results is driving me mad!!!
Also TTC so this is delaying that process!

Any advice greatly appreciated

X

I'm in a similar position but my smear was a month earlier, they said at my colposcopy that the cell changes were very minimal but came back from the biopsy and matching my smear test - high grade severe dyskaryosis. LLETZ booked for 10th December, I'm really down about it as we were hoping for IVF to start soon but this is delaying things. Hope you get good news!

How do they know what to treat if they can't see it?
They've told me if I need treatment we can't conceive until I've had a clear smear after 6 months!! Have they told you the same??
So annoying! Hope it all goes okay for you x

They could tell mine from the biopsy, not sure how!

I've not spoken to the IVF team yet, the appointment isn't for another month but I'd guess it's the same. I actually was pregnant last month after my colposcopy but miscarried at the beginning of November at around 5 weeks, they would have had to delay my treatment until after the baby was born if I'd have not miscarried so I think it would be the same advice to not conceive.

It's so they can go back in and remove more cells if the cells aren't all removed in the first appointment, if you're pregnant they don't like to do smears/colposcopies and don't usually do LLETZ if you're pregnant.

I'm still angry at my body for having dodgy cells and delaying my plans to have a baby so this post might come across as a bit bitter Grin

I had a mc in July- I'm very angry at my body too!

@mrss2018 I hope you're okay, it's the hardest thing because it's impossible to try to look after yourself when you're so angry at the injustice of it all and for me, it's that not only can my own body not be pregnant right now but it has the audacity to start making dodgy cells down there. Like we've not had enough to try to cope with.

I really do feel for you, I'll keep my fingers crossed that your cells are normal and you can TTC soon. Hopefully you can have some good luck now with this.

Thanks @MapleSpice it's so frustrating- I'm preparing for the treatment- it's annoying but at least we'll be healthy when we do get pregnant!!
Still pissed off though 😆
Hope everything goes ok with you too- at least you'll be able to have a good drink at Christmas! X
