What should I do

I'm needing a bit of help and reassurance tonight. I've not been myself all week, waking each night around 2am sweating unable to sleep and horrendous headaches. Tonight I came to bed same time as my children, husband stayed down. I felt uneasy and strange wooziness in my ears. I seem to have a bad stomach and half an hour ago I stood up to go the toilet but quickly grabbed the side and sat down again my legs nearly gave way, head still thumping and I feel shaky and empty. I feel so dizzy Im just laid on the bed. I do suffer from mild anxiety but this is the real deal as I'm shivering and just darent move. Does this sound like blood pressure, I'm scared of closing my eyes incase I don't wake up. Another symptom early when going to bed was like I was tipsy off drink and very clammy, What should I do, I'm panicking a bit.

If you are menopausal pre-menopausal I guess that could be the clue. Otherwise blood pressure high or low or fluctuating, or even a virus as we have been discussing on other threads. Try not to panick because then it gets into a vicious circle. If it persists of course see the GP.

Thanks for replying. I had a rubbish sleep which is nothing unusual these days. Yes I'm peri menopausal but I do think this sounds like blood pressure. I can't help but panic, having small children I always think the worst will happen to me. Also is dizziness when standing a peri symptom? My head hurts so much, just want all this to go away Sad

Marvelmum dizziness when standing its usually to do with BP dropping as you stand. I'm a long suffering BP victim, in my case it fluctuates up then down and it does make you feel rubbish. As you mention stomach symptoms I would think virus, please see "When will this virus go away" we all had a variety of symptoms similar to yours that lasted ages or cleared and then came back. As I suffer from health anxiety I believe I make it worse by stressing about it but I know it can't be helped. Flowers

Peri-menopause is my guess. Definitely.

Redskyandrainbows67 · 11/11/2018 02:32

You don’t normally get symptoms with blood pressure.
If you are worried about bp tho buy a home monitor so you can check it

You do however sound unwell.

Have you taken your pulse rate? I find facts can help with anxiety. Take your bp and then look up if it’s normal.
Ditto temp.
Take paracetamol for headache

If you are still worried phone 111 who will help you sort out what to do

R U running a fever? I'm thinking "virus", too.

swingofthings · 11/11/2018 07:09

Oh yes perimenopause. Had exactly the same and its horrible. It's been two years that I feel like this at times. Been refereed to cardio and all is fine but my HR and blooms pressure is very low. When it dips especially low, I get all the symptoms. I've read that the lack of oestrogen can indeed have effect on the heart although it's not a dysfunction.

Of course anxiety makes it much worse.

ileclerc · 11/11/2018 07:13

Sounds like a virus to me. Hope you're ok.

Galwaygirl · 11/11/2018 08:02

Sounds a little like me at the moment, I suffer with GAD and have had pain in my ears for a week now, I have exactly the symptoms you describe. I am going through a stressful time and I can relate to each symptom you describe

Galwaygirl · 11/11/2018 08:03

Get BP checked and this is OK look towards your anxiety

marvelmum · 11/11/2018 08:09

Thanks for your replies. I don't have a home monitor as never had abnormal BP before so yesterday I went to the local pharmacy who did it for me. He did 3 readings and it was indeed low. He told me to make an app with GP because of the dizziness that comes with it. I'm beginning to wonder if it is menopause although I didn't know it was a symptom but I'm thinking the drop in oestrogen sounds about right. I have night sweats but. nothing too much ie body soaking. I'm more burning skin and clammy. Maybe it's time to go on HRT. This and anxiety is horrendous and I can't go on like this I need to sort it out Sad

swingifthings are you taking anything for the symptoms ie HRT or any vitamins you could recommend?

I would want to rule out cardiac issues op. They can cause anxiety, night sweats and bp changes. I would book a same day appointment tomorrow morning if I was you.

In fact I’m wondering if you ought to see an out of hours dr today - maybe call 111 today? If it’s not serious they’ll tell you to wait to see your gp but will help you if it is
