Hi everyone

I'm having a Endoscopy next week to look at my stomach because I have bad Acid Reflux. I will be having sedation but i'm so anxious about it. I'm trying to keep busy to take my mind off it but it isnt really helping. Has anyone had one with sedation? What was it like? & how long did it take? Thanks everyone 💕😬

I had this done under sedation a couple of years ago. I was very anxious but it was quick and painless and with the sedation, which works really quickly, you genuinely don't remember anything. They told me that would be the case but I didn't believe them! It's all over in 20 minutes or less. Good luck but you'll honestly be fine.

Thanks Moonpie 😊 I'm hoping I don't remember it. The Doctor said I won't be asleep but I won't be awake either

xRoyalty it's a strange sensation but you honestly won't remember it. I had a little bit of a sore throat after but OK within a few hours. My MIL managed it without sedation but I don't think I could do that!

Thanks Moonpie 😊
I don't think I could do it without sedation either, the people that do are very brave 😬

The sedation is great SmileSmileSmileSmile

All I remember is holding a polo in between my teeth

Next thing I am waking up in bed in different room then the lovely nurse offering me a drink

I had one without sedation and it wasn't as bad as I expected so I'm sure with sedation you'll be fine.

Did have a sore throat afterwards but just took ibuprofen.

Hope you get to the bottom of your reflux issues

Thanks everyone ☺️ hopefully it will be a breeze & I won't remember it

I’m having one without sedation on Tuesday 😬😬. I’d like to have the sedation but I’m widowed and I’ve got kids to look after on my own and a job to get straight back to so no option really.

Hope yours goes well 💐

Good luck Thanks I hope it goes well
At least you will be able to go home straight away, I think I have to stay about 1 hour afterwards because of the sedation.
I wish I could do it without but i'm just too nervous 😟
