Hi, my dentist has told me I have 50% bone loss on my lower front 4 teeth and that I will lose them very soon once I’ve had deep cleaning, it clearly shows on the X-ray. Has anyone else been in this situ, I’m terrified that I’ll scare my baby, will I be walking around toothless for months? Anyone who’s had the same/similar experience if you don’t mind would you share please? Thanks xx

Scare your baby? They're very self-centred. That's not the bit I'd be focusing on.

I don’t have personal experience of this, but I am absolutely certain your dentist will not leave you with no front teeth. Talk to them and find out what your options are for when the time comes - my MIL has a false lower front tooth on a plate and I would never, ever have known if I hadn’t seen her without it once when she was ill. I would also be asking what “very soon” meant in terms of months/years. Your dentist and hygienist should be able to give you help and advice to make sure you halt further gum problems and bone loss.

Ty Judy I will do, I’m back tomorrow to start my 1st deep cleaning.... I’m just so sad, as my teeth are perfect “so my dentist tells me” it’s my gums that are not great. Thanks again for your time :-) xx
