What makes you think that? Is she eating enough? Does she have any illnesses, does she take medication?

Have you checked her urine?

francagoestohollywood · 18/06/2007 12:36

Ketosis used to be a very popular condition in Italy in the Seventies .
No, she's fine, a bit of a cough, but really bad breath. I was thinking if there's some food I should avoid...
no haven't checked her urine.

my ds has similar....it gets worse when he is a bit run down...or having a growth spurt. doc saysnot to worry and feed his growth spurts. not a lot can be done when he's run down though.

Franca,

I don't want to worry you, but that pear drop/acetone smell on the breath you get with ketosis can be a sign of diabetes (my ds was diagnosed at 5). It might be worth asking your GP for a urine test to rule it out.

Good luck!

thanks tangarine, will def do
