I’m young/fit but my walking pace is slow. After work I have a 15-20min walk home, which i used to do in 10. This includes going through 2 alleyways in pitch black so it’s a bit creepy - the long way takes 30m.
I used to be deficient in vit d so when walking, my calves and legs ached and I would get muscle fatigue/stomach stitches. I’m not deficient anymore but am not able to recover my previous pace.
Now that it’s pitch black when I leave work, I just want to speed through that walk home. How can I start walking faster? For perspective my partner was saying how it takes him 30 minutes to do a canal walk which takes me about 45 minutes, so I definitely stroll at this point.
