...OK.. need advice.

Been on and of Prozac (more on than off ) for the last 4 years. Mainly to help cope with stress, tiredness and mood swings.

Have always been on the lowest dose 20ml and over last 6 months cuttting down until for the last 2 months compeltely of. (all with GPs input)

..but I have turned into a she devil. I am so bad tempered, have no patience, shout at everybody...and am generally awful. I am trying so hard not to be but could really do with suggestions as how to improve this.

Really don't want to go back onto the Prozac...but if it makes me a nicer person, then I may have to , as I am not nice at the minute.

Any suggestions?

doesn't sound like you were ready to come off. I came off by incorporating a number of other things to rely on - exercise, yoga, had couselling, CBT etc to give me a bit of ammunition when I was off AD's and things were bad.

I came off once without any of this back up adn ended up back on them. Decided the next time that I was going to have non-drug ways of coping.

Has worked so far.

When I came off anti-depressants, I was like some crazed bitch-troll from Hell. I was bad tempered, argumentative, snappy and generally pretty vile to be around. At the time there were some other MN threads where various other posters were having the same thing happen to them.

It seems that it's one of the side-effects of coming off the tablets - but if it's any consolation, it does eventually go away. I guess it took about eight or ten weeks before I felt I was back to normal again.

sounds like I need to leave it a few more weeks before I give up and go back to the GP.
