Called into Drs after routine ECG

Borntobeamum · 29/10/2018 18:24

I had a routine blood test and ECG after registering with a new Dr on Friday.
Just had a phone call asking me to go in and see a Dr for an appointment to discuss the findings of the ECG.
I'm quite worried but taking comfort that they don't want to see me till next week. So it cannot be too serious?!
I'm going to worry now 😥

I had an ECG at the GP which showed something but was told at the time it was nothing to worry about, later that evening the GP came to my front door to tell me to get to hospital asap. I would console myself that if they were worried they would act now not make you wait. Good luck Flowers

I got called back same day for something was life changing for me, "next week" could be a life style warning or more interest in your family history. ECG often show up something which is congenital. Call up if you are worried. Good luck.

I agree that ‘next week’ is comforting. I had an ecg at the gp, didn’t think anything of it, only for them to call an ambulance due to a wierd trace!!

Sorry posted too soon.

Just wanted to wish you good luck. I’d definitely call the gp to enquire rather than worrying. That certainly won’t do you any good and something I’m sure the GP will understand. 💐

Are you okay?

Fruitbatdancer · 31/10/2018 22:44

My husband had this, they said his ecg was a bit ‘odd’ or not normal and they sent him for an echocardiogram which was absolutely fine. Basically they said the ECG wasn’t normal, but was normal for him and therefore normal enough not to worry about. So could simply be they want to double check something.

Ok here goes.
Good news - my BP was fine, my cholesterol was ok. I’m anaemic so been put on iron tablets.

The more worrying New is I have possible LBBB - Left Bundle Branch Block and have been referred to a cardiologist.

I obviously came home and googled it and found mixed reports on it.
Apart from my weight, and I’ve now lost over 20lbs in 9 weeks, I am T Total, a non smoker, take regular excercise and eat healthily so there isn’t a great deal I can do to change my lifestyle.
I will update again (if you’re interested) after the visit with the cardiologist x
