Hiya first time poster feel nervous...
Ok turned 47 last week..embarking on new relationship lots going on n no kids...started noticing an evilness from the very pit of my soul ..I scared myself so I had my overdue mirena changed..has settled a bit BUT night sweats OMG...brain confusion. I loose the odd word. Intolerant, lack of libido (great) achy ect ect all random amd stops n starts. Yes I know what's happening, 😔 but trotted off to my Gp and thankfully saw a lady doctor. She's suggested Evening primrose/Starflower oil Black cohosh & agreed to do my bloods. HRT can wait till I simply cannot. She sat as I'm pretty fit I'll be ok for a while I exercise 7 days a week it helps with all the anxieties of life. So has anyone had any joy with these herbal remedies. Started 1000mg starflower it's on offer at Holland n barrett!! Lol ..

I did find the herbal remedies helped a little, but like 1% compared to the HRT 100%.

(And HRT good for prevention of osteoporosis).

I tried Soy Isoflavinoids, Menomood (which is black cohosh plus st johns wort - it helped but I suffered a serious side effect to the st johns wort which was photosensitivity causing not only brown patches on my neck which I was aware might happen but also 18 months of horrendous eye problems including extreme light sensitivity which has only just gone away). So be careful with herbal remedies. Diet and exercise are more helpful too.
