Should I plead with my mum to stop taking HRT?

My mum is nearly 65 and has been taking HRT for ages and ages. She came off them briefly last year, but felt so bad that she decided to go back on them. She dismisses the risks associated with it, but I worry about it a lot.

Should I talk to her again? How big are the risks really?

Thanks for answering doodle. You're right, I should get more information. I'm just so worried about losing her, increased by the fact that my dad is very ill with Alzheimer's.

I take HRT!

What has her doctor said to her?

mummylin2495 · 16/06/2007 23:21

i have been taking hrt since i had a hysterectomy nearly eleven years ago,my doc has recently cut them down first to half the dose, then again to only every other day.i think that soon he will stop me taking them altogether, but i did have to go back to one a day for a while because of some symptoms i didnt like ,but now back to every other day.i think it depends how your mum will feel if she comes off of them.

I'm not entirely sure what her doctor has said, my mum tells me it's all fine, but I'm not sure if she's telling me everything.
