Have you tried an antiperspirant foot powder or cream? DH has awful sweaty feet but the powder works a treat for him.

Mabelface · 26/10/2018 19:43

Lush T for toes is really, really good.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/10/2018 19:44

Try washing them with Hibiscrub.

lesleyt1990 · 26/10/2018 19:45

I havent tried one before no.

Need to try something I know. I'm at the point where I am paranoid to remove my Boots or Shoes unless noone is about.

it could be fungal - Try washing your feet with Tea Tree Oil soap bar, really well between the toes and around the nails, every evening and rub in a small amount of Canesten antifungal cream the same you would use for thrush. Just a tiny amount would be enough to kill fungus. It's important that you wash and dry your feet very well before putting on the cream. Also, check if the smell stays in your shoes and you can get some tea tree oil spray to put in your shoes. Or if it's trainers you can put them in the washing machine.

Rudgie47 · 26/10/2018 20:19

What are you wearing on your feet? If you are wearing anything other than pure cotton socks, this could be the cause.
I once went on holiday with a friend and she was wearing nylon socks,I nearly gagged with the smell.

You are getting a bath or shower and washing your feet properly everyday aren't you?

lesleyt1990 · 26/10/2018 20:20

Fungal that doesnt sound good, I know I am guilty of wearing my footwear right tilI go for a bath or a shower which probably makes things worse I know and I should stop doing.

do you wash your feet properly with soap? or do they just get wet in the shower or bath?
do you dry your feet and in between toes properly?
do you change socks every day and wash them in a hot wash?

lesleyt1990 · 26/10/2018 20:21

Yes I have a bath or a shower at least once a day, and no never wear nylon socks, always wear cotton ones.

When i used to work in london and wear tights every day omg my feet stank. Really bad! I work from home now and wear socks or bare feet and they no longer smell.

Jackshouse · 26/10/2018 20:22

If your shoes smell too then you will need new shoes.

lesleyt1990 · 26/10/2018 20:24

Yes I try to wsh my feet as often as I can.

And yes my Shoes and Boots do smell too.

I can often be on my feet for 12 hours a day maybe longer also. I have tried rotating between a couple of pairs of different footwear and had the same problem

I used to suffer with this & have pretty much cured it.

Like you say, always cotton socks but my biggest key rule is that shoes can't be worn two days in a row. Take them off asap when you get in and leave them to freshen up as long as possible. I think it is the sweat. Once the smell has got into them, they never recover IMO.

So I say start again with new shoes, clean feet and strict rules.

MrsCatE · 26/10/2018 20:32

You need to see a Podiatrist because sounds like a fungal infection. You will have to chuck out the most used footwear or will 're-infect'. Never wear same pair of shoes on consecutive days - leave at least one day inbetween to make sure dried out. Above advice re washing as often as possible, drying properly inbetween toes etc.

lesleyt1990 · 26/10/2018 20:33

Yes I quite often have worn mine more than one day.

I know I need to get a few more pairs as well.
