Dd (4) has had a lot of redness and soreness around her vagina on/off for years. We use sudocrem or similar when it's sore and that alleviates it.

Her bottom doesn't itch and she does not scratch at night.

As it's been going on a while I took her to the GP thinking it's likely thrush or vulvovaginitis but was shocked for him to say threadworms.

I'll go and buy the stuff but I just don't believe that's what it is.

It could be , however I remember having them and your butthole itches like crazy ,

If she's not itching then it might not be , no harm in her taking them. If it doesn't resolve the redness then it could be thrush , apparently it's command for little girls
