dd2 is turning 2 in a couple of weeks. she's had fever for 2 days which we kept down with calpol etc. she was a major nightmare getting off to sleep last night and today she has just not been herself. she drooling bucket loads, no fever but very moaning, cant seem to sleep and it seems to hurt her to suck. we're tried looking in her mouth and can see any mouth ulcers or teeth coming through.

do they still get teeth at this age ?? what else do you think it could be? she seems to be in pain but we cant work out from where in her mouth ...

Well, if she hasn't got her full set then it could be teeth (although I'd be very loath to diagnose any kind of fever as teeth-related). Have a feel in her mouth - I couldn't see DS's molars coming through but boy, could I feel them.

My ds is 2 on Friday and he only has 7 teeth that I can definitely see (although not sure if the top molars have come through as well) so there will be teething traumas chez trib for many months to come I suspect! I'd rub some calgel or similar on any available bit of gum - not least because then you'll be able to feel if there are any more teeth to come through .. hope she feels better soon.

tried rubbing bonjela onto gums and she screamed for dear life ... gave her some calpol at lunchtime but didnt seem to make any difference ....not sure what to do, cant seem to comfort her either

It's awful when you can't do anything for them, calpol, calprofen, bonjela, calgel, medised at bedtime, and whatever you think she needs
