Does this sound like kidney stones?

Hi! Would appreciate your opinions please. Yesterday I got sent to A&E by 111as I was in a huge amount of pain from my lower back to the right hand side of my pelvis at the front. Lots of checks done and all came back clear so not a UTI etc. Got sent home with pain killers and instructions to get my Gp to refer me for a scan as it was probably kidney stones. Spoke to Gp on the phone today and she agreed that it sounded like kidney stones. Now, since the conversation with my Gp the pain has changed, much less painful in my back but a burning pain across the right side of my pelvis/lower stomach area. If I cough or sneeze I feel like I have to hold it because it feels like something will pop or tear. Does this sound like the normal progress of kidney stones to you? I'm actually in a lot less pain so that's good, but it's a bit unnerving!! Thanks.

It could be kidney stones. I've had few removed and the pain you're describing sounds similar. Then again it could be diverticulitis. Whenever I get an attack, im never sure for the first day whether it's a uti or diverticulitis. The pain is always left side, always really low down and severe.

Oh ok thanks, I'm off to google that. It hasn't been mentioned so far but worth looking at.
