My optician has just told me he's convinced I have this.

He was constantly shining a light in my eyes at my 2 year check and asked me about 4 times how long I've worn glasses for.

I had 20/20 vision until I was about 20/21. Then started glasses for mild astigmatism. Over a 10 year period it got steadily worse and has been considered severe for a few years. (Still don't think I'm really anywhere in severe range but just meant I got a higher voucher amount from nhs. I no longer am entitled anyway!)

However he also said as no change in last 2 years and my age (late 30's) I'll probably not ever get to the point of vision that can't be corrected and that he won't refer me to a specialist as he's not concerned.

Apparently it explains why my eyes are very light sensitive.

I'm a little relieved it is probably under control (having read up on it) but in a bit of shock to be told i have a degenerative eye condition that I've probably had for nearly 20 years Shock
