Awaiting biopsy on womb lining

Anyone else in the same position? I've had a hysteroscopy today after bleeding for a couple of months. There was evidence of thickening and of an enlarged uterine cavity.

I just wondered if anyone had any experience?

Yes, I've been through the same experience. It was grim waiting, but my GP rang me as soon as he had the result. While it was a 'good' result, I still had the underlying problems to contend with. Scans suggested a possible fibroid in the uterine wall.

So I had to have a further hysteroscopy, and then I opted for a total hysterectomy because of a number of factors.

Oh, should have said fingers crossed for you Flowers

Thanks for your reply. I'm glad to hear your result was positive, even though you still needed treatment.

I suspect I would also have a hysterectomy if it's hyperplasia. I've already had an IUD in for 9 months and I'm already taking progesterone. Both of which should have reduced lining.

I get my results from the gynae in 4 weeks 🤞🤞

If I recall correctly with mine, I had an appointment back in gynae in a month, but they had the results after two weeks and sent my GP a copy, and he rang me. This was a couple of years ago.

It took me a while to get my head around having a hysterectomy - I'd just started my own business! - but fortunately I was able to have it done laparoscopically, so recovery was faster.

There's a few good threads on MN that were really helpful, if you have a search. Best of luck with it all.

Thankyou! I'll have a search. Here's hoping mine rings with an update too!
