Overthinking ear infection question

I went to the GP today and she gave me a spray for an ear infection. It’s quite a gungy infection and I can’t work out how long I need to keep my head tipped to one side to keep it in place. My ear feels fluidy (it did when she saw it) all the time and sore so I want it to work.

And before anyone gets at me about going go the GP/nhs resources, I have a completely unrelated long term condition that affects my mobility and was asked by my specialist to attend the GP this week for that so asked as I was there.

The best thing to do is spray it and lie on your side with your ear pointing upwards for a song as you can after using the spray.

Did your gp give you any instructions?

Ear infections are no fun at all. Flowers

Sorry, misread your post. 5-10kibs is plenty of time.

Mins not kibs!

Why on earth wouldn't you go to a gp if you have an ear infection? I would.

I assume it's an antibiotic spray, does the leaflet not say? If not id try to keep tipped for as long as is practical so as much as possible sinks in through the gunk.

It’s called Otomise - antibiotic/steriod and something else. Leaflet doesn’t say, GP didn’t say anything other than 3x a day until symptoms have gone when I asked.

(And this is MN where half the posters seem to think you’re wasting NHS resources if you call an ambulance whilst still alive. Hence my “at the GP anyway”)

Thanks.

I've been prescribed otomise a few times as has my daughter I usually try to lie down for at least a min or two after I've sprayed it, with my daughter I've always said 5 mins but that's just so I can get peace Wink
