Poorly perineum - help

To not drip feed, I had a disastrous birth 8.5 years ago involving third degree tear which didn't heal, so had full reconstructive surgery when baby was twelve weeks. All healed well - very scarred and dimpled but healed none the less.

Subsequent birth was elcs I should add.

Anyway, the past few months on and off (hormonal?) my Perineum gets red, feels "sticky" and occasionally stabby. I've seen two gps on different occasions it's happened and though they've both remarked how scarred I am (cheers, doc) haven't said anything untoward.

I wash with oilatum and occasionally rub the cream on directly.

Anyway I'm walking like John Wayne, due on imminently but going away tomorrow!!

Could it be something fungal?
