I need a bit of help.
When. In hospital, being induced with my little one 7 weeks ago, I felt an itch on my thumb
I ignored it as midwives said likely wee allergic reaction to something.
A week passed, it turned into a spot, then a small boil which slowly grew in size
It grew to the size of a 5p piece

I called for an appointment for the doctor but my surgery has a 2 week wait for normal appointments as the receptionist told me I couldn't do a phone appointment as the doctor needs to see it. so I went to the pharmacy and got magnesium sulphate which I used and it did weep but not much

By the time I got to the doctor's, I was told " if we saw you sooner, we could have sorted it" Angry
They tried to drain but no luck so I was put on fluxacillan for 7 days and while it dried it out, it wouldn't fall off as it was still sore and could see a growth underneath it.

Today, after weeks of soaking in warm water etc, I got the top to fall off and by God, it looks a billion times worse! It appears to be a growth - not solid but it reminds me of a raspberry of red and white.

Has anyone had similar and should I just apply magnesium sulfate again to see if these could drain too or do I need another doctors appointment. not not painful but very ugly and with a 7wo pawing at me, it's not been a great experience so have had to keep it bandaged up since she was born :(

" if we saw you sooner, we could have sorted it"

I feel so irritated in your behalf. I have no real advice for you other than keep it clean and as far as is possible with a new baby, get plenty of sleep, rest, good food. Hope you feel a lot better soon.

Enjoy your little one. Bear
