Obsessive craving for steak

I've never been incredibly interested in red meat. I love a good rare steak, but it has always been irregular.

In the last month, my periods have been insanely heavy. I haemorrhaged after my last pregnancy (retained placenta after section), so I'm not fearful of blood loss.
I'm probably permenstrual, about 2-3 days. This last week I have craved steak. Ridiculously.
I'm not pregnant. I just NEED it.
I literally just ordered a T-bone on 'Just Eat'.
This is madness. I should be asleep!
I have eaten steak 5 times this week. It is obsessive.

Do you think it is linked to my iron levels?

Yes, I'm a big believer in listening to your body. It's telling you what you need. Sounds like you need to get your B12 and iron levels checked asap. Also eat some dark green leafy veg as that will help with those things too, and some vitamin C to help your body absorb the iron, so have a glass of orange when you can.

Thank you.
I have an ultrasonic machine with the ingredients to make liposomal vitamin C. I also have B6.
I've been unwell recently, so I guess my body is telling me to sort it out!
I think I've been too lazy on my regime, so my cravings are telling me to sort it out!

B12. Sorry.
Drunk on steak (feels like I am).
This is bizarre. Never had cravings like this when I was pregnant.
Certainly not the case now!

Iron, B12 and protein! I would ask for blood to be done so you can see.
I know how you feel because I’ve been there. I majorly haemorrhaged with my first baby two years ago and I’ve had heavy periods for two years! I get those cravings occasionally. I’ve had more cravings post partum since giving birth than I had in pregnancy (I craved ice a lot in pregnancy but that’s because I was anemic most the way through my pregnancy).

Yup, but could be for the protein too more likely. I'm certainly no expert but I've heard when your body craves iron it's more that you fancy things like cereal because of the texture, weird but apparently true?
Look after yourself hun, sorry to hear what you've been through xxxx
