"This virus that's going around"

I bumped into an old workmate the other day and she told me that everybody at that workplace has got "this virus that's going around." I haven't heard anything about a virus - does anyone know what it is? I'm in the South-West if it makes any difference.

Herpes

There isn't just one on rotation at any given time.

It's such a stupid thing to say, as if everyone is only able to catch one thing at a time.

It’s will literally just be a virus. People from the place of work will catch it from each other, it isn’t a country wide thing. Could even just be a cold. Don’t worry too much.

Sorry I had forgotten this thread for a while.

Not an emetophobe at all. Just curious, as I feltl a bit "out of touch" not knowing what it was!

There seems to be a prominent one where I am that involves a chesty cough that is taking about 3-4 weeks to clear.

There has been a vomiting bug as well and some other bug which is causing gastro pain with gagging but no actual vomiting.

There’s one where you have a constant cold for 6 weeks or several minor colds all linked together.

But there are always hundreds of viruses around this time of year. Somebody said it’s the unseasonal mild weather not killing them off. Not sure how true that is!
