Indesctructable cold

Has anyone else got a never ending cold? I may be being over dramatic and it is just a cold but bloody hell I feel crap.

It started 11 days ago, second day of starting a new job - joy.

Every couple of days I think I am starting to feel better but as the day wears on I feel shit again. Luckily my new job involves working from home a fair but so I have been able to work in my PJs and not spread it to all and sundry.

I don't have any signs of chest/throat/ear infection so no point in seeing a GP (I work in primary care so I wouldn't dare!)

I just wish it would sod off. I have taken my body weight in paracetamol, drinking honey and lemon and hot toddy at night. Drinking loads of water and trying to rest when I'm not working.

Any wonder hacks that might help it along it's way?

No but I am in the same boat. New job and constantly sick. Actually had to take a day off sick. Nothing very specific or enough to see a doctor. Just feel grotty.

I’ve had 3 colds in the past 6 weeks. Or maybe just one long cold. Seriously pissing me off!

I'm in the same boat and have been low-level ill since the start of September. I saw my GP for something unrelated last week and mentioned it to her. She checked my throats and ears, listened to my breathing, told me I have a slightly high temperature but nothing to be concerned about and sent me on my way with "there's a lot of it about at the moment and it's dragging on for weeks." So it's nothing to worry about but MY GOD I am BORED of it now!

Throats? Nope. I definitely only have one throat Hmm

Same here. I'm on my second cold of the autumn, and got through the whole of last year without one. The first one made me feel really ill. Hot and dizzy. 10 days in, I still needed 2 tissues to blow my nose. I thought originally that this one wasn't as bad and I was on the mend. But it's taken on a new lease of life and I'm back to stinging nose and volcanic sneezes. I've now got a cold sore under my nose. Deep joy.

The only thing I've found that helps is Nurofen Cold and Flu and lots of diluted fruit juice.
