HV didn't check DD's hips at 9 month check-up - should I make an appointment?

Took DD for her 9 month check-up last month. There was no GP at the surgery that day but HV said she could do all the necessary checks. I noticed she didn't do the hip test, and she didn't write anything in the red book. Is this because she could see for herself that DD's hips were OK (I mean, from the way DD was kicking and standing)? Or should I make an appointment with the GP? Actually, looking at the red book now, I see she also didn't check DD's heart. A big part of me thinks DD's developing OK, and I don't want to come across all PFB but part of me thinks well, those checks were put in the book for a reason. What have been your experiences?

DD only gets checked on her hips because she was a breech and big baby.

Do you have a clinic you can drop into?

I have to say we never check the heart at 9 months in my area (I'm sometimes a HV when they are short locally - so that's alot at the moment). It's accepted that if all is well at the six week check with the heart then there should not be any further problems unless a baby becomes unwell for other reasons.

The hips depend on what can be seen of the baby's development. If your baby is moving her legs well and is able to stand with some support and takes weight onto her feet then the hips are okay.

My DS had his heart listened to and hips checked at six weeks - at the nine month check the HV only checked his hips by seeing he could weight bear with support.

Our doctors no longer do 9 month checks at all!

DS 1 only had hips checked at 6weeks.
DS2 had consultant check hips at 10 weeks with ultrasound thingy as he was breech and they do that extra check as routine in our area. As that check was fine they were not checked again at 9m check.
