Advice/support needed - on 2 week wait for cytoscopy tests

Have posted in chat but then thought this would be best posted in General Health.
I am 53 and have just been referred by my GP for 2 week wait tests as I am red-flagging for possibly serious issues with my bladder.
I have never had any uti's or any bladder problems before but in May this year was given 3 days of antibiotics for a possible infection as it was hurting when I unrinated (at the end of the stream).
Fine until 2 weeks ago - I was just back from weeks holiday and started with same symptoms and then blood in my pee too - bright red and pee very discoloured and pain was worse. Saw locum GP who tested my pee & gave me 7 days antibiotics but didn't send a sample off for further testing. Bleeding stopped after 2 days of tablets and pain had gone when I had finished the tablets.
Saw my GP today as I was concerned re feeling stinging sensation in vagina when I have sex and thought I may have thrush - she took swabs but says that it is probably atrophy, linked to menopause but has decided to follow up on the uti as no wee sample was sent off.
I am now very worried - I had put all these symptoms down to issues with Menopause (last period was June) and have started hot flushes etc.
Have got to have cystoscopy, CT scan and further urine tests and will be seen within two weeks. I suffer from anxiety and I am so worried it's something sinister.
Has anyone had these tests that could offer me some advice?

Have sent you a PM as don't feel comfortable talking about my mother's experience in a public forum without her permission but I hope the message will help to ease your worries x
