It's small but I can definitely see it and feel it and now I am freaking out.

I realise everyone will probably be in bed by now and I will make an appointment with the GP first thing tomorrow morning.

This is the last thing I need right now Sad

I didn't want this to go unread.

Hope you manage to get some sleep and get a Gp appointment tomorrow.

At the moment there are a number of things it could be and your GP is the best person to get the ball rolling to get this sorted out for you.

Repeat after me 9/10 breast lumps are benign.

I found a lump and i suffer from anxiety. Mumsnet and cammomile tea got me through it.

Drs appointment tomorrow. Any doc will do. Just get seen so you can get booked into breast clinic.

The sooner you go the sooner you'll be reassured.

Youll be seen within 2 weeks and they are so lovely and kind.

Mine was a cyst - i had a mammogram and an ultrasound where they drained it.

I was fucking terrified though Flowers

Hi op. I was in your position a year ago. Mine did turn out to be just a fatty lump though.
Do you have any FH of breast lumps/cancer.

dontticklethetoad · 02/10/2018 00:32

And what LEM said! You will be referred quickly, but don't worry about the urgency. The NHS are being very thorough with breast lumps and not taking any chances.

Is there anyone in real life you can talk to in the morning?

ShitWit · 02/10/2018 00:32

Just saw this and wanted to post.

I had one a few years ago and understand the panic. My maternal Aunt passed away from breast cancer and while it took less than two weeks for me to be referred to hospital and know it wasn’t cancer, it felt like forever.

I want to tell you not to worry but I know you’ll worry anyway.

For me the lump turned out to be a cysts, dh laughs because I got into the habit of cupping my boobs to poke around at my lumps and then poking at the hole left begging when the cysts were removed, dh says half the time when he looks at me I’m poking or examining my tits.

Good luck at the doctors and do try to get some sleep. Flowers

Flowers Been in this position myself, after seeing a consultant and having an ultrasound I was diagnosed with just being a bit lumpy. Try to think it’s good that you’ve noticed it now, while small. It’s more likely than not to be fine.
PlantsArePeopleToo · 02/10/2018 00:45

Will they definitely refer me to the clinic then?

Oh well not much I can do about it now so best get some sleep.

No history of breast cancer or lumps in my family AFAIK.

Not always an immediate referral. Some may say torecheck ata different stage of your monthly cycle.

In fact my dr was wait and see now i remember but i went back the next day as i was climbing the walls.

Thingywhatsit · 03/10/2018 22:38

How did you get on? Maybe we can give each other a hand hold? I went yesterday to gp and got referred to breast clinic- found a lump 3 weeks ago, but was near to my period so ignored it, but it's still there. Gp doesn't think it's a nasty although didn't really manage to convince me when she said "I think it's a fibroadema but it's not a typical presentation" and went straight for 2 week referral to the clinic. It's about 3-4cms so not small and I have tiny boobs so makes it seem so much bigger!

I think humans are often programmed to think the worst - I am trying not to stress about it and staying away from Google! (Failing in the latter!) Just hoping I get my appt letter soon - knowing the date will help my stress levels!

HandlebarTash81 · 03/10/2018 22:41

Hope you got on okay today, Op.

PlantsArePeopleToo · 05/10/2018 16:06

I did make an appointment but the earliest I could get was the 16th so I will have to wait 😔

In the meantime however the lump is still there but it hasn't grown or changed or anything.

@Plants
Did you tell them what the appt was for?
They have to refer suspected cancer to be seen within 2 weeks.
Ask for the practice manager if reception are unhelpful.
