DH has broken his ribs - what now?

DH has broken his ribs, took himself to a and e, x-ray confirmed break, given pain killers. but being a bloke he forgot to ask about any of the ramifications, so what might these be?

they said no sport for at least 1 month (he did this playing footie!) but thats about it.

don;t think there are any, they don't do much about it these days I don't think unless he's in imminent danger of puncturing a lung (unlikely). I pulled an intecoastal muscle and I think advice was same as for cracked rib - nothing too strenuous but carry on as normal unless pain gets worse.

There are no ramifications, katz. I've broken my ribs several times (always pissed and always on the bed post), and the pain eventually subsides.

The pain lasts generally for a week, during which time it can get pretty nasty, but it passes quickly enough.
