Had a caesarean 4 weeks ago and exclusively breastfeeding.

Started yesterday with quite severe acid reflux pain in sternum and back pain between shoulder blades and then shivers.

Woke up this morning with an awful headache, nausea, fever and breast pain and fatigue .I’ve had mastitis before - quite a severe case where I had a temp of 41 and an infection and anti biotics, and so assumed it was that and started expressing from the painful breast and feeding more frequently. The pain and the lumpiness in the breast went.

Headache is still present, still nauseous, still bad acid and i’m going between freezing cold to sweating. I’ve had to go back to bed as the flu symptoms are overwhelming.

Well I had shivers, sweats and headaches post natally due to hormone crashes but I think that was the first few days after giving birth. At 4 weeks out it sounds like you are just ill, but I wouldn't want to take chances. Call 111 for advice since you may need to see a doctor.

You really need to see a doctor asap, even if it's mastitis because of the other symptoms you have you will need antibiotics.
If it isn't mastitis it could be anything and because you have had surgery 4 weeks ago and are probably still healing it needs checking out.

Call 111 and see a dr urgently imo
