Premenstrual chest pains??? Anyone??

Has anyone any experience of this?
My periods are not particularly heavy other than emotionally draining. I'm mid thirties , have had five pregnancies.
Every month in the week before my period I get sharp pains kind of under my left breast. Chesty. Not breasty. Almost like someone has a Hoover in there. Also I struggle with pre menstrual severe headaches and breathlessness on climbing stairs/ hills. I'm not anaemic, normal weight, blood pressure fine, had an Ecg years ago for same reason but they found nothing. 5 complex pregnancies have made me look like a hypochondriac at the gp surgery so they haven't been much help. Anyone?!

Have you heard of diagphramatic endometriosis? Might be worth looking up.

In which way are your periods emotionally draining? This could be related to breathing changes.

Really I just mean the usual, pmt etc. Actually I'd say the physical premenstrual symptoms contribute a lot to me feeling so down... I'm wiped out by debilitating tiredness, have a lot of water retention , massively bloated tummy and so on. The breathlessness is very physical , every day I have to climb a huge flight of stairs. But in the days before my period when I do this I'm so horribly out of breath and my head is pounding by the time I reach the top. Then after my period , back to normal.

Any other ideas? Or any suggestions as to what medical investigations / tests would be useful?

OP, have you had your ferritin checked ? Mine is 3 and my iron is 6 and I can relate to some of your symptoms. Especially the feeling of breathlessness. Might be worth getting checked again.

Hi OP,
I've had sharp pain every now and then under my left breast (on top of the rib). I may have first started getting it about 10 years ago. About 7 years ago I asked my gp about it and she believed it was nothing more than stress pain. I no longer get it often but it can still flare up when I'm very stressed.

Thank you , I'll have my ferritin checked again. I am (always!) a bit stressed but this is something very specifically related to my period. It can be unbelievably accurately timed. For instance I'll be sitting at the table, I get the crushing chest pain, I stand up, and my period (The bleeding) has started. Its so bizarre and so hard to google.
