Impetigo not going away!

My 7 month old son has had impetigo on and off since the beginning of June! I took him to the doctor a few days after it appeared on his cheek, the doctor thought it was a fungal infection, gave me some anti fungal cream, which did nothing. I went back about a week later to see another doctor who said it was impetigo, gave me an antibiotic cream and liquid antibiotics which seemed to clear it up, then about two weeks later it came back again!! I went back to the doctor again and he said "just keep applying the cream" which I did for another three weeks with no improvement. I went back again at the beginning of this week and got prescribed liquid antibiotics and he's nearly finished them and it hasn't improved at all :(
Has anyone had any similar experiences? What made it go away eventually?
The cream is called fucidin and the antibiotic liquid medicine is called flucloxacillin.

I had silver citrate sticks but as an adult, is it still lurking on bedding, towels.

That could be a possibility that it's still on his bedding but I have been washing & changing it often

What about new pillows. I think the doctors can do a nose swab to,see if there is a specific bacteria and prescribe nasal, sprays.,poor wee soul.

Bin or scrub his cot mattress daily, wash absolutely everything, plastic toys can go in the dishwasher. Teddies etc. soaked in miltons then cool wash. Put most of his toys away once clean, then clean the ones left daily. You will need to deep clean everything he comes into contact with. Only use bedding, towels, clothes once then wash.

It can be hard to shift. Poor little mite it is unpleasant.
