Im scared ive got a dry socket

So i got my second to last bottom molar putted yesterday and im scared that i have dry socket. I hole is really big and there are some white spots and red spots.

Are you in pain? Dry socket is excruciating from what I've read. I was terrified of it but in the end I had an infection. If in doubt go back to the dentist , I would

No not really but im taking very high prescription.

I had a toothed pulled a few years ago, it took the dentist almost an hour and she talked about one last attempt before she may have to give up and refer me to the hospital. Thankfully her last attempt was successful but it left a huge hole. i was convinced I had dry socket too as it was sore, but not as sore as mumsnet would have had me believe it should be. Nevertheless, I went back to dentist who cleaned it all out and packed it for me confirming it was indeed dry socket. So my advice, after all that ramble, is go back to dentist if at all worried and ask for an emergency appointment to make sure all is healing as it should be, don't wait until you are in agony.

I had a dry socket after a terrible extraction that took 2 dentists over an hour to do. Believe me, you'll know if you have a dry socket. You'll question whether they took out the right tooth as your whole face will be in agony, not just the socket. Strong painkillers will last about an hour, then you'll have 3 hours of agony before you can take more! Any doubts, go straight back to the dentist. It was hell.
