After a series of pretty nasty abscesses, smoking and generally not looking after my teeth properly when younger I have several back teeth missing both top and bottom. It's not really bothered me, you can't tell and it doesn't affect my eating (unfortunately)
Earlier this year I decided to treat myself and had 2 plates made, one top, one bottom. I admit patience aint my thing and whilst the bottom one was just a bit achy the top one rubbed my gum (needed to be tight apparently) and I hated it. Being the persistent type I chucked them both in the bathroom cabinet a few months ago.
Woke up in the night with pain in one of my incisors. Straight to my dentist who has said it's ok for now but might not last long. She says root canal is an option but really not fancying that so I'm probably back to the 'have it pulled' option which means I've got to start getting used to this bloody plate so it can be put on there.
How do I do it? I work customer facing, can you imagine me whistling and clicking at them? Not to mention how ruddy uncomfortable I feel in them.
Please tell me there is some magical tip to get used to these bloody things.
