I drink red wine, and I like spicy food.
When I was younger and I drank a lot for a while, eg 2 week holidays with mates, I would get heartburn.
But I don't really any more.

This past weekend I ate some spicy food, and drank 2 glasses of champagne, and two glasses of red, over the course of about 5 hours. That's not a lot for me.

Since then I've had an awful sensation in my stomach. Not heartburn, too low down, but def feels like acid rising. When I Lie down to sleep it's awful.
The night I ate and drank what I listed I was up in the night in pain and with the trots, feeling like I'd be sick (I wasn't).

Since then I felt better mostly, but then twice have tried a single glass of red and immediately feel that awful sensation again. And actually just after I've eaten a basic meal, too. Not even overeating or eating anything rich. Just by having a full stomach.

I'm worried I've somehow damaged my guts?!! Don't laugh Grin.

Anyone had anything similar?

Yep. And it went away after 2 or 3 days of consuming nothing but water

Sorry late reply ,no I didn’t , first day I couldn’t even keep any water down, literally have a mouthful of water, struggle for 5min to keep it down, then find myself spewing up down to the bile and dry retching. I’d be dehydrated but not able to drink anything don’t know if that sounds familiar at all?
