I've recently moved house and in order to register with the new Surgery, I must see a nurse for an MOT type check. To be totally honest, I'm scared to death! It's about 10 years since I last saw a Dr. I've had smears and Mammogram in that time as Im 56 but they have all been fine. My worry is I'm very overweight and recently joined Slimming World. I'm worried my BP, cholesterol etc is going to be off the scale. Im also concerned about maybe being pre-diabetic as my dad is diabetic. I guess I've been very lucky health wise and I just dont want to suddenly be old and ill! Will they take into consideration that I'm trying to lose weight do you think? I feel very well, if that helps!

They are there to offer you help not give you a hard time. Since you want to lose weight, maybe you can weasel a gym membership or slimming world membership out of them.
