What would you do?

I think I’m getting shingles - started getting tingly pain on my back and round my ribs on Thursday. This is where I got it the last time.

Just went to dr and she said there would be a rash right now (I have 1 spot) if it was shingles - but she has prescribed anti-viral meds.

She told me to take it if any more spots appear but my hunch is just to take them anyway. What would you do?

I get shingles quite a lot and I am a doctor. You don't have to wait for more of a rash to appear. I take antivirals as soon as I get that tingly pain starting.
The rash can vary in individuals and you may only get one or two spits, sometimes you get more.
Yes you should take the aciclovir as the sooner you take it the better

Thanks theredjellybean - I’m sorry you get shingles a lot. The last time I had it was 18 years ago and it sucked. I’m keen to avoid being so ill.
