What’s wrong with my ear? Tinnitus?

So my right ear has been problematic for years. Sometimes Iv been told wax build up and had my ears syringed I think earlier this year, have used ear drops in the past etc in case it’s wax. Last year the doctor wasn’t happy with what the ears were doing (I think could be symptoms of a tumour?) as it wasn’t symmetrical to what the other ear was doing? Was sent to see someone, I want to say an oncologist but I think that’s wrong... anyway this guy did various tests on balance etc and said I’m fine but I could have an MRI to appease me. As I’m claustrophobic I decided against the mri as he wasn’t remotely concerned.

ANyway, all weekend my right ear has this constant low sort of humming type noise. When one of the kids is talking (but not the tv?!) it stops? Doesn’t hurt at all, haven’t been swimming or anything.. does anyone have this and find an answer to stop it?

Had very similar, saw a ENT consultant who did similar tests I assume and said exactly the same, that I was fine but could have mri I'd needed further reassurance. Decide not to until 6 months later when symptoms got worse. Was really worried as was also suffering from headaches at this point but mri came back normal.

I now believe problem is mix of stress and menopause.

I’m glad I’m not the only one. Bloody annoying thought isn’t it! Now I’m out and about I can’t hhear it which is something I guess!
