Numbness / tingling in right arm - A&E?

DP had sudden chest pain at 1pm and ever since he has had numbness and tingling in his right arm. The chest pain subsided fairly quickly.

He feels completely fine apart from this, but the tingling isn't shifting. Does this warrant a trip to a&e?! He thinks not because he's fine otherwise but I'm not so sure.

Yes immediately!! It could be heart issues. Go now don’t wait.

Bombardier25966 · 23/09/2018 18:28

Call 111.

Fishywishyhead · 23/09/2018 18:28

A very much loved colleague dropped dead on us last year and ignored his warning signs. Don’t let it be your dp!

loveyoutothemoon · 23/09/2018 19:11

Absolutely! Typical signs of a heart attack.

CrimsonFootstool · 23/09/2018 19:12

Go to A&E

isabella2 · 23/09/2018 19:19

I'd minimum call 111 but think an A&E trio would be totally justified. Whatever you do, definitely get us checked ASAP!

isabella2 · 23/09/2018 19:20

Sorry for typos

PrincessConsuelaBannanaHammock · 23/09/2018 19:22

I would defo go to a & e for that. My father had symptoms like that a while ago & didn't go to a & e. Luckily he was fine but the GP gave him a bit of a lecture for not seeking urgent help at the time it happened & for waiting until the next day. Hope everything is ok OP.

QOD · 23/09/2018 20:45

Well? You ok?

JennyOnAPlate · 23/09/2018 20:49

Yes! Straight to a & e

Toddlerteaplease · 23/09/2018 21:13

Not 111. 999! Chest pain with numbness and tingling down the Arm is an emergency.

ambostraw · 23/09/2018 21:15

I hope you have gone and he is ok OP.

These symptoms are for A&E, not 111.

firstdegreehb · 23/09/2018 21:16

a&E

Nightwatch999 · 23/09/2018 21:18

Definitely take him to A&E, they will do an ECG and take bloods to check his Cardiac Enzymes. Get him in ASAP

whereiscaroline · 23/09/2018 22:12

Thanks all. He's at a&e, sorry for slow reply. He's had to go alone as DS is in bed. Really hoping it's nothing.

How did your dh get on??

whereiscaroline · 24/09/2018 00:22

@Flossie44 he's still over there at the moment. Blood pressure and ECG were ok, they're just waiting on bloods. His arm is still numb though! They've mentioned it could be something to do with a nerve but that doesn't seem to explain why the numbness started suddenly after chest pain IYSWIM?

Arm pain with heart problems is generally the left arm. The tingling of the arm sounds like compression of a nerve possibly in the neck area.

Griffo123 · 24/09/2018 00:32

Tingling of the right arm that is ....

Aridane · 24/09/2018 01:15

Glad he’s at hospital

isabella2 · 24/09/2018 12:08

I hope he is doing ok today.
