Can anybody give me some advice?

I posted not long ago about dd 13yrs old having these "funny turns".I tried to make appointment at doctors with no luck,and with having 6 lo's it was another thing that was put to one side.
Anyway my friend come round to cut dd's hair.She was stood by the sink in the kitchen,when she said she was hot.We sat her down and she had one of the "funny turns".Eyes flickering and arm shaking.After a couple of mins she was back with us feeling sick.I now i need to see gp but any advice for today

yes g to your GP. What's her diet like? Is she eating enough?

I would call and insist on seeing the out of hours doctor, tbh.
Especially if you may have to wait days for an appointment with the GP - and these symptoms have occurred before.
I have no medical training, so can't help.
My thoughts were that it may be blood sugar related, or hormonal, or caused by too little sleep, or perhaps mild seizures?
I hope she feels better soon.

I have checked her blood sugar because dh is diabetic,that was ok.She is fine now just abit quite.I'm taking her to gp on monday and not leaving until we have been seen.This has been happening since she was a baby.There is no patteren to them happening but they are all the same.

She has started her periods awile back.But she has had alot of these "funny turns" over the years,first one at 6mths old.She fell from the sofa and banged her head.When i picked her up her was having a "funny turn".I said to the doctor at the hospital that she had had a fit but they didn't think so.We have taken her lots of times and they don't seem to be worried.It's like they never remember the other times,and they say she has just fainted.

my dd1 has had something called reflex anoxic seizures, which are like what you've described when your dd was a baby.

It could be a form of epilepsy my SIL has it but has not had a bad attack since she was young however she still has mild attacks where she can feel herself shaking, eyes going etc, she says this mainly happens when she hasn't had enough sleep or not eaten enough. However i don't know very much on this subject so wouldn't like to comment too much and worry you further.

Definately see your GP though - i hope all goes well and that you manage to find out what is causing this to happen. Good Luck

Gosh this sounds very similar to something I had when younger (and occasionally still now but once every few years). Mine were called vaso-vagal attacks. They are basically a sort of faint but the vagal nerve that runs right through the body from head to stomach can cause the dizzy sensation mixed with nausea. Being hot is also part of it. Sometimes I used to feel fine right after, sometimes it'd take a good few hours. Sometimes it would be triggered by something e.g. knocking myself, sometimes it would just happen. My heart rate would often go a bit erratic or I could hear people talking to me but not be able to respond till it was over. Does this sound similar? If it's any consolation the GP told me it's nothing to worry about, just get your head down and in to a safe place when you feel it happening. But I would still get her checked out so they can reassure you.

Thanks everybody.I can't wait till tomorrow,i'm ready for a fight to get dd referred.If it turns out to be nothing great,but i think it's been going on to long now to be ingnored.

Mummyto6, well done for standing firm on this, you both need to know what's causing it.
My first thought was 'petit mal' epilepsy, which a friend had at school, it just made her go a bit vague/blank for a minute, I never even noticed or witnessed it, and she was fine...but it's good to know what's going on so you can have peace of mind.

To be honest the friend that was cutting dd's hair has a ds with epilepsy.I have told her lots of times about dd but this was the first time she had seen it happen.She said after she thought it was some kind of fit,and if dd hadn't come round when she did she was about to ring 999.Her ds is 8yrs old and has had fits since he was 18mths,so she know alot about epilepsy
