Athlete's foot?

I've had athlete's foot since about June. Worse than before as now three of my toenails are mottled white, which I'm assuming is the fungus.
I've tried daily tea tree oil foot soaks, athlete's foot powder spray, liquid spray, canesten cream, washed, dried feet and clean socks every day etc, all to no avail.
In fact, when I use any treatment, by he next day the skin between my toes goes white, lifts away, and peels off to reveal sore, weeping skin underneath. It's painful and sometimes smelly. I don't know what else to try.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I also wore sandals most of the summer so my feet wouldn't sweat. Rarely wear trainers at all.

Have you seen the doctor, maybe there is an underlying skin infection that needs antibiotics.

It sounds very severe. See the doctor. Tea tree oil is good to prevent it.

Thanks. Didn't want to see the Dr for something as small as athlete's foot, but I might have to.
