Pain after major surgery?

I had major surgery 10 weeks ago including removal of a golf ball size endometriosis nodule and also a Bowel shave. I’m experiencing sharp nerve pain emminating from where the nodule was removed. Has anyone had experience of a nerve type pain after surgery? X

I developed nerve pain in my buttocks/groin following rectal surgery.

Have you discussed this with your surgical team? There are lots of treatment options for nerve pain so hopefully they can advise.

Mine took several years to settle down, but it was successfully managed with medication.

It's early days for recovery so hopefully it will improve as you heal Flowers

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I understand it’s early days, I’m being terribly impaitent as I’ve had 2 surgeries this year so spent a lot of time resting and I suppose I’m eager to get back to normal.
Would you recommend I speak to surgeon rather than GP for pain management? X

Yes, I think so as it's so soon after the surgery. But I don't actually know, to be honest. I'm sure either could help, but the GP might want the surgeons just to check everything is healing properly and that it's not a surgical issue.

Thank you for your help.

I think I’m going to give it a couple more weeks and see if it settles a bit then go from there.....

Oh to get back to normal! Hmm xx

It sounds like you've been through the mill. I hope it eases up quickly for you Flowers
