How would a woman go about getting a diagnosis for possible Asperger's syndrome?

Go to your GP and ask for a referral.

Remember, young female girls become very good at hiding traits so they end up getting missed. As a woman you will now recognise where your struggles lie to make you ask this question.

You need a referral for a specialist to put you forward for an assessment.

I know a diagnosis isn’t a cure but it’s an answer that opens your own self belief in yourself.

I’m assuming it’s for you but it still applies if posting for someone else.

www.autism.org.uk there are many other help sites including Facebook if you want to read up to gain other peoples experience to help you articulate your concerns to your GP.

I can’t help much further because I’m sill waiting for DDs assessment which was finally agreed this year, she is 14 and I’ve been asking/concerned/needing help sinceshe was 4.

Things are changing now though and it’s being recognised that young woman are suffering without support to.

Good luck.
