Hi,

I am due to have my baby in October, i am stuck on having him at Pembury hospital or Crowborough Birthing centre.
Obviously there is good and bad sides, i just keep thinking if i go to Crowborough what happens if they need to rush me to a hospital.
Any Advice ?

is there a particular reason you don't want Pembury? Had all 3 of mine there.

No, my gut instinct is Pembury due to Doctors being there etc just heard manly bad reviews recently about Pembury. Lady went in the other day, ward was busy no rooms for her to have baby, contractions every Minute. Then had her baby in the waiting room. Due to the hospital being busy and short staffed.

I used to go to the Crowborough BC for my IVF injections nearly 19 years ago now, it was a lovely place and the midwives at the time were wonderful to me, they didn't have to put themselves out to do my injections but they always did. If I'd gone on to have a baby I would have loved to give birth there it always seemed so relaxed etc and not like a hospital.

Crowborough is lovely and usually very quiet do you’ll probably get better midwife support there. However, if you need a doctor during labour you will have to be transferred, a friend of my had to go in the ambulance all the way to Eastbourne whilst pushing! Especially with a first birth I wouldn’t recommend a birthing centre as you have no idea how things will pan out.

there is also a facebook page for Crowborough BC, which might help you decide, get real life advice. x
