Painful thigh lump

I have, for many years, had a deep lump, maybe a kind of cyst right at the top of my inner thigh. It’s about the size of a marble.

I think it possibly started out as a painful spot/boil many year ago, but has lain dormant.

Two days ago I noticed it was a bit tender, and the area seemed red. The lump itself was touchable though, it felt like I had a spot coming in the same place as the lump, just higher up towards the surface of the skin.

Yesterday the whole area was a bit uncomfortable and the lump in my thigh seemed closer to the surface so you could see it affecting the shape of my thigh.

Today it hurts when I walk and is a bit bigger, though not a serious pain and no head.

Do I need to see a doctor? Work is really stressful this week with managers away and only be in charge, coupled with childcare problems which means I have to leave work early to collect children.
