Osteopath for trapped nerve?

I have a painful trapped nerve in upper back/shoulder area which just started on Friday and became so intense I rang 111 who said to go to A and E - my whole hand was numb. Doctor there diagnosed trapped nerver.

I've been taking painkillers round the clock and the pain is less intense now but I NEED to sort it asap as i've just started a new job and don't get sick pay plus I don't want to give my new employers any reason to doubt appointing me.

I've been thinking to see an Osteopath - I can get the costs covered under my health cash plan so won't cost me anything. I'm thinking it's worth a shot. Has anyone tried an osteopath for such a thing or know if they can treat this?

Hi, yes I did . I only needed to see the oesteopath around 3 or 4 times and it was sorted. The day after the treatment the pain can temporarily get worse but this does subside. I’d definitely recommend seeing an oesteopath Smile

I went to an osteo and a physio to compare them, and the physio was much better so gonna continue with that. I hope the pain worsening is a sign of it getting better as I have been in awful, excruciating pain last night, despite being on a cockail of drugs including naproxen, amitryptyline, cocodamol and diazepam. All that and still the pain is getting through!

More physio tomorrow so hoping it has some effect. Don't know how much longer I can put up with this!
