eye infection or allergy?

(name changed) Any help welcomed. How do I know if I have an eye infection or an allergy? I had my eyelash extensions done on Thursday, (infills). Have had before with no problem. This time my eyes have swollen up and are v itchy. Friday were a little swollen, yesterday more so. I went to Boots and was advised to take an antihistamine. It doesn't seem to have made a difference. Today there are at least as bad as yesterday.
If it was an allergy wouldn't it have gone by now? Could it be an infection? What is the difference?

Last time I had the infills done there were a teeny bit swollen and I didn't really think anything of it.
Lash lady says an allergy can develop due to build up of product.

Any advice/experience/suggestions would be great. Thank you

You will need to see the GP. It could be an allergy, so keep taking the antihistamines while you wait for an appointment, but if it is an infection, you will need to be seen and treated soon. Can you get the lashes removed? You should probably do that either way.

thank you for your reply. I've removed them (mostly), googled how to do it.

Antihistamines take a few days to get in your system and make a difference. I'd persevere even with the lashes off.

Agree with others but still see go or go to emergency eye clinic in local hosp if they have one is my advice. Eye problems should be taken seriously.
